The National Museum of the USAF located near Dayton, Ohio, offers two special Home School Days every year — once in the spring and once in the fall. Programming changes each year, with the fall program being a repeat of the previous spring program. Dates for 2008 are: April 7, 2008 and September 29, 2008. The schedule is subject to change so check their website before you plan your trip.
Home School Day activities include workshops, presentations, guided tours, hands-on aerospace demonstration stations and scavenger hunts. In addition, prices for IMAX Theatre and the Morphis MovieRide simulator are discounted. Those who are interested may come for a full day or just one activity. A picnic area is available outside the museum for those who wish to pack their lunch. Food, snacks and drinks may be purchased in the museum’s cafe on the second floor.
