Multiplication Lapbook
A math notebook containing 25 examples of math in the world at-large. Each blog entry contains a picture, a description that sometimes has a question with it, as well as the Grade Expectation that it meets. Shows you just how math is all around us.
Dr Mike’s Math Games for Kids articles and games for homeschool math.
China Lapbook - I really like that their lapbook has laminated cards of Traditional Costumes which are separated showing layers such as hair (use as discussions for hair styles or why hair was worn a certain way), clothing (use as discussions of ceremonial dress or traditional dress - make more and use for play!), etc. The panda bamboo book is a creative idea for recycling some of those popsicle sticks we have stuffed in a kitchen drawer.

Email me through the page if you have lapbook pictures or info to share.
Mother’s Day bargain at the Grocery Store
We had Kroger Private Selection’s Stone Fired Spinach Pizza for Mother’s Day dinner last night. I liked it. However I found the dough to be a bit dry, but that could be due to my oven or how long we cooked it for. Regularly priced each pizza costs over $6.00. We found them for 75% off! It cost us $1.55 each pizza! We snagged what we could and popped the rest of them in the freezer for future use. We also got the Stone Fired Pesto Pizza. The pizzas are vegetarian.

Many of us don’t realize that while we are stomping, separating, and bundling our recyclables, other creatures are also busy recycling. Nature’s recyclers are responsible for turning dead plants and animals back into usable nutrients for new plants and animals.
Play Recycler-opoly, an online quiz game from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to test your knowledge of nature’s recyclers.
This is a great group with wonderful ideas that has taken off like a shot. I love it!
It’s Easy Being Green!
In honor of Earth Day (and every other day), a homeschooling mom decided to start a group for all interested in going “green”. Whether you are new to “green living”, or have been living it your whole life, there are a lot of simple things we can do for a healthier life and a healthier planet.
If each and every one of us made even one small change in the way we do things, it could make a big difference, for our planet and ourselves.
This group is a place to share ideas, resources, and just general information on green living, including (but not limited to) recycling, reducing, reusing, and use natural, organic, chemical free (in other words “Earth friendly” products

I was looking in a paper craft magazine July 2006 and found a few big punches that fold to shape like little file folders and library pockets. I actually have one that is shaped like little file folders - I got it for our scrapbooking. It’s dimensions are 1-7/8″ x 1-3/10″. Here’s the link to the manufacturer’s website straight to the picture of what it looks like: Mini File Folder Punchie. I’m sure I can incorporate the punchie into our games.
