Omega Vert 350 Juicer
I have an Omega Vert 350 masticating juicer. I bought my juicer from Bed Bath & Beyond. I signed up first for text & email coupons from them and waited approximately 5 days before they sent me my first coupon text message. As soon as I got it, I headed straight over to buy my Omega Vert.
It took me a bit of time to decide upon the Omega Vert. I researched brands, watched videos, went through some old emails from groups and mailing lists. One of the reasons I purchased the vertical juicer versus the horizontal juicer is because it takes up less counterspace – has a smaller footprint. Years ago I bought a juicer from either a resale shop or garage sale. I don’t remember the brand, but it might have been a Jack LaLanne juicer. I used it one time to make juice. I was not happy with my results. At that time, I knew nothing about juicing and ended up donating the machine. All these things and more helped me to choose the juicer that is the best fit for me.
While looking at Sur La Table, I found they offer cooking classes and demonstrations. I attended a juicing demo at Sur La Table mainly so I can learn how to use my juicer – I didn’t want to read the manual. The demo was nice because the instructor was knowledgeable, she made the demo fun and presented the material in an unintimidating way. They had 2 juicers available – a Hurom (which is very much like my Omega Vert and a different one that was more horizontal, don’t recall the brand. We (instructor, fellow demo-mates and myself) noticed that there WAS a difference in: color, output, taste). The Hurom was a winner all around so I was even more sure of my purchase. And the money I saved from Bed Bath & Beyond – I went and bought fruit and veggies to juice!
All that aside on the juicer, I’d love to have a Norwalk. But I think it’d be a complete pain to clean – definitely worth it though.
Back to work this week so I made two juices to take with me. The vending machines at work are filled with junk yet health is talked about by Safety. Pointless talking until something is done. I’ve always wondered what the kick-back was on the machines.

This is interesting! I don’t even own a juicer…yet, I need something besides water in my life. I’m a runner and I think I may start following your posts! Thanks!

Hi Bethany, Check out in star am and search hashtags runner running juicing. I think those searches would get you to some ideas of what people are using to help hydrate while running.

I don’t have a juicer, but your recipes sound delicious! Fresh juices are the best!

Hi Katha, You are absolutely right – fresh juice is the best! I find that I can no longer drink store bought “normal” juice (regular store brands like OceanSpray, Welch’s, etc) because it tastes awful to me. On occasion, I will still buy organic or raw food style juices (brands like Blue Print, Suja, whatever I did my last juice cleanse with) if I’m out and about and didn’t bring something to drink.

I have read through many of your 31 day juicing post! As I am aspiring to kick the McDonalds habit I am very encouraged by your recipes. I will be visiting often!

I have a juicer and did a lot of juicing for awhile, but have gotten away from it. I’ve been thinking that I need to start back up again, and now, seeing your blog, I’m even more sure that it’s time to start up again.
