Beet Juice and Green Juice
The first juice is:
Beets. That’s it. Beets.
Beet juice alone is very nice. Sweet, earthy taste. It doesn’t make a lot of juice – I used the whole container of beets. The color is lovely. The juicer did a good job on all the hard veggies. As I was typing this, I wanted to learn about the health benefits of beet juice.

This paragraph in particular caught my eye. Are There Any Side Effects to Drinking Beet Juice? The dark carotenes of beet juice may give your urine and bowel movements a red color. This color change is harmless. Since beets are high in oxalates, people who tend to make oxalate kidney stones may want to avoid beet juice. I knew about the color change – I found that out the hard way, lol. What I didn’t know what about beets being high in oxalates. I have had kidney stones once years ago. It was ridiculously painful. By the time I was called in to see the doctor, they told me I didn’t have any stones. I waited 7 hours in a lot of pain for them to tell me that. I can tell you where the stones went, but I digress. I’ve had them once and all I knew was that it could happen again.
The second juice I made today was 5 romaine leaves, 1 green pepper and 1 cucumber. This juice is very smooth and a bit watery.
Before and After
The coffee mug is approx 4 1/2″ wide and 4″ tall – it is bigger than the average size mug.
I have mixed the two juices just so I’m not overloaded on beet juice and combined they are very tasty.
