5 Essential Pieces of Equipment for Your Home Gym

Getting fit doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. To kick off your strength training journey at home, consider some key items like dumbbells, ankle weights, a stability ball, soft hand weights, and resistance bands.

You’ll also need a designated area for storing your weights and mat, as well as space to do your workouts, cardio, and Pilates. For organization, I use a couple of plastic baskets from Target’s Y-Weave collection and a wire basket from HomeGoods. I even hang some items on my mirror for easy access. Plus, I keep a binder for workout notes, new exercises I want to try, and equipment instructions.

To keep my budget in check, I tracked all my purchases, and most items were bought on sale or clearance. Certain times of the year are definitely better for snagging deals on home gym gear!
