Nest Box Monitor Volunteer Training Wint Nature Center
Train to be a Nestbox Monitor Volunteer Sunday, March 8 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Wint Nature Center.
Oakland County Parks and Recreation manages nest boxes at several parks for the Eastern Bluebird and other native cavity nesters. Nest boxes are monitored by trained volunteers through the Oakland County Parks and Recreation citizen science program. Volunteers are asked to visit assigned nest boxes weekly from April – July and record activity in the boxes. This information is shared with the NestWatch program through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and is made available to scientists and researchers.
This free training is for new volunteers and also a refresher for past volunteers. Pre-registration is required at 248-858-0916.
Wint Nature Center is located at 9501 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston.
