Nurture in Action My Word of the Year & Spring Reset Intentions
Spring is here—a season of renewal, growth, and fresh starts. As the world shakes off the last chill of winter, I find myself drawn to the idea of nurture—not just as a passing thought, but as a guiding focus for the months ahead. It seems every Peak Season I fall back into old habits just so I can get through the day. This year, I want to change that. At the beginning of the year, I chose nurture as my word of the year. It wasn’t a random pick; it was an intentional choice, a promise to myself.
Why “Nurture”?
For too long, I’ve been running on autopilot, pushing forward without truly taking care of my own needs. This year, I’m shifting my focus to intentional self-care—not as an indulgence, but as a necessity.
For me, nurture means:
Fueling my body with foods that make me feel good (hello, raw vegan smoothies and simple, whole foods).
Caring for my mental health by embracing small joys and daily moments of peace.
Moving my body with purpose—with the goal of getting back on roller skates by the end of the year.
Clearing out the old (clutter, habits, and even mindsets) to make room for growth.
It’s about showing up for myself in a way I haven’t always done before.
Spring Reset Intentions: Small Steps to Big Change
Spring is the perfect time for a reset—nature itself reminds us that renewal is possible. Here’s how I’m aligning my nurture focus with the changing season:
Refreshing My Space – Out with the clutter, in with calm. A little organization goes a long way in making my home feel more like a space that supports my well-being.
Revitalizing My Diet – I’m working on transitioning to a raw vegan lifestyle, which means getting creative with meal prep and finding new favorite recipes. (Smoothie bowls are a staple!)
Rebuilding Strength for Skating – It’s been years since I last laced up a pair of skates, but I’m making small, sustainable moves to rebuild my strength so I can get back to it.
Rethinking Daily Habits – Whether it’s reducing screen time, making space for creativity, or simply slowing down, I’m focusing on habits that support nurture instead of depletion.
Moving Forward with Intention
This isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. Some days will be easier than others, but every small step I take is a reminder that I’m choosing to nurture myself, in whatever way I need at that moment.

This is something I NEED to do! I have been doing so much de-cluttering but also minimalizing things. I realize I need calm down, slow down and focus on me in my transition.

You’re doing great! Not sure I could do the raw vegan diet, but not many can (I think). Keep up the good work.

Spring seems like a natural reset for me. Lots of cleaning and home projects. Along with that I just naturally feel a sence of renewal.

A reset is always a good idea. My word for 2025 is resonance – everything I do moving forward needs to resonate with my goals and values. It’s working quite well for me!
