The Unexpected Weight of Decluttering
I’m at my storage unit. By myself. And wow—this is tiring. I came here with the goal of pulling out items for donation, but instead, I’m uncovering a different kind of weight.
Somewhere beneath stacks of heavy tote boxes, I found my parents’ wedding china—exactly where I told the movers not to put fragile items. There are some broken pieces. And, as if that wasn’t frustrating enough, I also discovered lightweight totes crushed under heavier ones, their lids caving in from the pressure.
It’s moments like this that remind me why storage spaces can be overwhelming.
