Arts Education Content Standards Overview in pdf form of the five standards for Arts Education content in the Michigan Curriculum Framework are followed by overall remarks on the Arts Curriculum. The five standards are applied across each of four arts disciplines: Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts.

 

All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre provides young people with an opportunity to produce plays of a professional quality, and to provide the community with an opportunity to enjoy live family-oriented dramatic activities.

Children’s Ballet Theatre is dedicated to quality, youth-oriented ballet. This non-profit company includes children from ages 8 to 18. Dancers study technique at their regular home dance studios, then work with the company to create memorable, fun performances.

The Community House Youth Theatre programs offers a year-round Theatre Curriculum including Theatre Camps, “Popcorn Players: Putting on a Performance” and two youth theatre productions in the Spring and Fall.

Founded on Oakland University’s campus in 1967, Meadow Brook Theatre is Michigan’s largest non-profit producing professional theatre.

Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit Founded in 1992 by Rick Sperling. Mosaic’s Mission is to empower young people to maximize their potential through professional performing arts training and creation of first rate theatrical and musical art.

The Plymouth Community Arts Council (PCAC) The Children’s Theater Program, Plymouth Uptown Players (PUPs), offers school aged children an opportunity for theater, rehearsal and performance experiences. A full schedule of summer art workshops are also offered, exposing youngsters to a variety of art disciplines. Also provides other artistic education. Please see their website for more info.

PuppetART PuppetART Center is located in Detroit’s Theater District, just a few blocks from the Michigan Opera Theater, Music Hall and the Gem and Century Theaters. The Center includes an intimate 70-person theater, a museum that accommodates a growing collection of puppets and a studio featuring various workshops.

UM School of Music – Youth Programs – MPulse At Michigan this motivating force is MPulse Ann Arbor – a summer phenomenon on the University of Michigan campus carrying high school students to exciting new levels of excellence in Music Performance, Music Technology, Musical Theatre, and Dance.

Youth Dance Theatre of Michigan seeks to provide professional caliber dance training through master classes, performance opportunities and enrichment to young dance students, thereby helping to nurture strong minds and healthy bodies in an artistic environment.
