Cucumber Apple Lime Green Juice
This small-batch juice was made with what I had on hand and yielded just over five 16-oz bottles.
Ingredients
- Approximately 8 cucumbers
- 1 bunch of celery
- 4 limes
- 4 Gala apples
- 1 Granny Smith apple
Note: One cucumber was split-half went into an Asian cucumber salad; the other half was prepped for snacking (plain or with Everything But the Bagel seasoning) and stored in a yellow collapsible silicone square (medium).
Nutrition & Health Benefits
- Cucumbers – Highly hydrating, cooling, and easy on digestion; provide potassium and silica for joint and skin support.
- Celery – Adds trace minerals and natural sodium without overpowering the juice.
- Limes – Support digestion and liver function; balance sweetness and help slow oxidation.
- Apples (Gala + Granny Smith) – Provide natural sweetness and tart balance; pectin supports gut health and adds body.
Why 2 Apple Types Were Used
Using both Gala and Granny Smith apples creates a smoother, better-balanced juice without added sweeteners. The natural sweetness of Gala apples softens the tartness of Granny Smith, resulting in a brighter, more drinkable blend.
Gala apples
Naturally sweeter and lower in acidity, Gala apples add smoothness and mild sweetness without overpowering the juice. Their softer flavor helps balance tart ingredients like lime and celery, making the juice easier to drink.
Granny Smith apples
More tart and higher in acidity, Granny Smith apples brighten the flavor and help prevent the juice from tasting flat. Their higher polyphenol content contributes additional antioxidant support and improves overall balance.
