The Zekelman Holocaust Center
Learn, Reflect, and Remember at The Zekelman Holocaust Center (The HC)
The Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan, stands as the state’s only Holocaust museum and one of the first in the country dedicated exclusively to preserving and teaching the history of the Holocaust. Through carefully curated exhibits, survivor stories, and powerful artifacts, the center offers visitors of all backgrounds a deeper understanding of Jewish culture, the atrocities committed during the Holocaust, and the ongoing importance of standing against hate.
Spanning 55,000 square feet, the museum provides a structured and respectful environment for learning. The experience is both emotional and educational, with permanent exhibits, a memorial wall, and an extensive archive and library available for deeper research.
The center offers rich educational support, including:
Educator Resources: Thoughtfully developed tools and lesson plans built around the “Safely Explore, Prepare and Conclude” (SPEC) model, designed to foster critical thinking and compassionate understanding.

Whether you’re integrating Holocaust education into your homeschool curriculum or looking to spark deeper discussions about human rights, empathy, and history, a visit (or virtual experience) at The Zekelman Holocaust Center is a powerful step toward understanding.
