Purple Juice and Pumpkin Juice
This morning was a purpley day. As I was unpacking from yesterday’s trip to the Royal Oak Farmers Market, I noticed I purchased quite a few purple items. I got purple cauliflower, purple cabbage, purple kale, eggplant, and purple carrots. The carrots came in a small container that had orange, white and purple carrots. The bunch of celery was huge, I only needed 1 stalk. I was a bit concerned the cabbage would be overpowering but I think the apple counteracted it. It was quite good.
Purple Juice
Equipment
- 1 Juicer. I use the Omega Vertical 350 Slow Juicer.
- 1 Strainer
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Knife
- 1 Colander
Ingredients
- 4 leaves purple cabbage
- 2 leaves purple kale
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 cucumber
- 1 Mutsu apple
- 1 beet
Instructions
- Wash all the ingredients.
- Chop them to fit into the hopper of your juicer.
- I tend to use a Strainer over my juice collector.
- Enjoy!
Notes
I hope you can see the wonderful color the juice produced.
Later today, I made pumpkin juice. I used a smaller pie pumpkin than I did last time mainly because it took quite a while to prep it for juicing. The ingredients I used are in the Pyrex bowl. The other pie pumpkin is there so you can see the size compared to the apple and pears.

A great post. I love purple. Not sure if I’ll drink purple though 🙂

Thanks for sharing. I found your post very interesting as far as all the purple vegetables you found. How amazing to have a farmers’ market that is that well stocked. The purple vegetables made a gorgeous color drink. Although I have to say I am not sure I would drink it. Juicing is not high on my list of “must dos”.

Now that looks healthy and great for fall!

Oh, these look wonderful! I’ll have to try them out. I have a couple of girls who love everything purple… and one who is a Harry Potter addict who will think pumpkin juice is wonderful.

I think I’ll make this again later on this week and try adding the purple carrots.
