Oakland County Fair volunteers needed

It’s that time of year again…Oakland County Fair is coming and we need volunteers! What we especially need are judges for the exhibit hall where local 4-H kids will be bringing projects of all kinds. Projects range from photography to rockets to creative writing to performing arts to crafts to drawings and painting. The list of projects is almost endless. If you have an area of expertise and are willing to commit to one Saturday in July for judging and one hour and half training session before hand, let me know! Judges will be fed well on the day of judging and will also receive a parking pass to attend a day at fair and passes to some daily events. A fun bonus this year is that the Exhibit Hall is going to be held at the Historic Ellis Barn this year, so you will get a chance to see the barn up close and personal! 🙂 For more information on fair and the Ellis Barn, go to www.oakfair.org for fair info and http://www.destinationoakland.com/parksandtrails/parks/springfieldoaks/Pages/EllisBarn.aspx for some info on the Ellis Barn.

Important dates:
Judging day is Saturday, July 10, 2010. Plan on being there a good part of the day.

Judges/Clerks Training is scheduled in the Board Room (Administration Building) at the Fairgrounds for:
June 19 Saturday 10:00 a.m.
June 22 Tuesday 6:30 p.m.
June 26 Saturday 10:00 a.m.
June 29 Tuesday 6:30 p.m.

Please tell your judges that they only need to attend ONE of the four training sessions. Due to changing from the Danish to the American judging system, we are urging ALL supers, judges, clerks and auditors, new and old, to attend a training class.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Thanks for your consideration!
