Make Your Own Page Flags

Over the weekend, I watched a video by ebbydoesitall on making your own page flags, and I decided to give it a try.

I found that smaller prints work best for page flags. For sizing, cutting three long strips from a single sheet of scrapbook paper was enough for me.

The last row (top left in my photo) was made using three sheets from a notepad from Target. That paper was pretty flimsy, so it’s not something I would use again.

Most of the designs in that row came from The Green Stack by DCWV. The pad measures 6.5 × 4.5, which is too small for page dividers in my planner, but it works well for smaller items like page flags. I’m planning to use the rest of the paper for things like page magnets and dashboards.

I experimented with a few materials:

  • Cardstock
  • Regular scrapbook paper
  • Magnetic notepad paper (from Target’s dollar spot)

Regular scrapbook paper worked best overall. It has enough structure without being bulky, which makes it ideal for page flags.

For tools, I used a paper trimmer and small detail scissors. I marked placement lightly with a marker and then trimmed.
