Make Your Own Mini Coupon Binder Guide

Make Your Own Coupon Binder, A Guide to Make A Mini Coupon Binder
My mother couponed and I still have her couponing box. It is a box with tuck-in flaps that a gift of some Christmas food items came in. On the lid inside she had written her index of what was in each envelope. I use her index to organize my coupons in my binder.

Maybe it is due to ‘extreme couponing’ but I find that the expiration date on coupons is much shorter than it used to be. I’ve tried using a big binder but it is bulky to carry around. I started using a mini binder and find it much easier to deal with. The binder is light weight, so I can put it in my bag to take to the store. I usually have enough room inside a grocery bag that I can put the coupon binder in with the groceries when packing up.

Coupon pages that I use are 1 pocket, 2 pocket, 3 pocket, 4 pocket, 6 pocket.

I use different tabs to organize the main sections and subsections.

You can write your sections on the note tabs.

I cut cardstock in half for my dividers and added the bigger tabs. On the coupon pages I added my subsection tabs.

Paper comes in the mini binder size or you can cut letter size paper in half and hole punch. I add a few sheets to the front of the binder so I can write down my grocery list on it. I also use the sheets to put notes of things I have to do or things to remember.

I do find that I have to clip the coupons close to the words without cutting off the barcode but it makes no difference since you have to cut the coupon anyway. I do fold some coupons to fit in the slots but I had to do that with the bigger binder as well.

This is my coupon index:
